A Comprehensive Plan is a community’s long range roadmap or guiding document, that shapes growth, land use, housing, economic development, and more over the next 10+ years. The current Comprehensive Plan was last updated in 2016. After 10 years, we are revisiting the plan to make updates that reflect the current needs of Cherry Valley.

Comprehensive plans are shaped by the feedback and needs of the community through survey responses, open houses throughout the process, as well as meetings with county staff.

Existing plans are an important part of the Comprehensive Plan process. These plans will inform the Comprehensive Plan, and in some cases will be incorporated into the plan if the goals and vision are still consistent with the aspirations of the community today.

The planning process has kicked off and community engagement is ongoing. Plan drafts will be shared in the Fall with a plan adoption goal of January 2027.
